Senior Professional Development and Practice Co-Ordinator (CIfA)

Cara Jones works within the Professional Development and Practice team at the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists (CIfA). Graduating from Cardiff University, Cara has been working in Scotland since 2005 as a field archaeologist, heritage consultant, local authority archaeologist and project manager in community archaeology. Working UK wide with her role at CIfA, Cara leads on the development of training and professional development initiatives for archaeologists in Scotland and contributes to linked initiatives throughout the UK. On behalf of CIfA, Cara leads Aim 5 (Innovation and Skills) of Scotland’s Archaeology Strategy and has been part of the active delivery of the strategy since it’s launch in 2015.

Cara sits on the Project Board as co-chair of the Professional Skills, Training and Specialisms Working Group.
